“I somehow had equated being kind with saying yes.”

“I didn’t want to let people down.”

“I was afraid to fail or hurt someone’s feelings.”

“I didn’t want to miss out.”

Ever found yourself feeling the feels with one of the above? Ever found yourself overextended or exhausted, with no one to blame but yourself?

Next time I D.A.R.E you to JUST SAY NO 🙃

Don’t agree to that deadline when it’s going to cause you to stress & not do your best work. Don’t go to the socially distanced gathering when you really need a self-care day (unless that’s self-care for you). Don’t agree to take one more meeting on the day you already have 5 and that feels like enough.

DON’T- and see how much better you feel being true to yourself and your boundaries.

The hustle is hard. We don’t want to miss out on opportunities, on experiences, on growth. But when you overextend and burnout, honey that’s way worse.

I came across a quote recently, “Be intentional with what you say yes to and what you say no to” and it’s resonating with me so hard lately. I’m actually in the process of revamping my daily schedule, the days I take calls, etc. ALL with this new mindset and MY greater goals at the forefront.

So the next time your gut tells you “no,” lose that fear of failure or of disappointment- because it’s telling you something bb and you’ve got to listen to it.
