#MondayMood: Using Visualization to Manifest Your Goals
USING VISUALIZATION TO MANIFEST YOUR GOALS
Today I’m starting a new series called #MondayMood. It’s a reset, it’s a check-in, it’s a reminder that you gotta take a step back sometimes and frame your week so that you can manifest the h*ll out of your universe. Every Monday’s got a theme; every post’s got a takeaway.
Today’s theme is: VISUALIZATION.
Maybe it’s exactly what you needed to hear today. Maybe you didn’t and it’s just adding to the confidence you stepped out of bed with. But either way babe: You Will Make It.
I’m often asked: “How did you figure out what you wanted to do?”
I’ve already had more than one career; my trajectory to full-time digital nomad doing work I love has been ALL over the damn place. But one thing I kept telling myself? You Will Make It. Until one day, I did. And now I’ve got a whole new set of goals- connecting with more of you, adding to my media business, teaching Ziggy to sleep…
But what did I keep telling myself? On the days I won and on the days I completely failed? On the days I celebrated wins and the days I LEARNED from losses?
You Will Make It.
I’m a big believer in visualization: Before I ever started freelancing as a content creator and traveling, I pictured myself doing it. I know it sounds weird. But I just started imagining myself working from a laptop and seeing the world. And then one day I was. There was a lot of work to get there, sure. But I kept visualizing it, all the time. Sometimes now I even get this weird deja-vu kinda feeling where it’s less of a, “Did I do this before?” and more of a, “Didn’t I picture myself here once and now it’s kind of happening?”
If you want to try visualizing, I HIGHLY recommend it. It’s a proven neuroscience technique if you harness your brain effectively! Athletes like Michael Phelps do this in training to prepare to win. Maybe yours looks like a vision board, maybe it’s surrounding yourself with art that inspires you to think differently, maybe it’s creating some inspo on Pinterest (which btw I’ll be pulling content from my BIZZZ board specifically for these #MondayMood posts- check it out!). To visualize effectively, you just need specific and selective images to focus on. Whatever you find works best for you: do it.
So to recap, visualizing can help you:
identify what it is you want to do
recognize when opportunities present themselves
realize what aligns with your goals
plan for setbacks and how to deal with them
“train your brain” to achieve what you’re seeking
Your takeaway is to try it out! Take some time today to visualize. Oh and if you already do this, DM me! I love hearing about your experiences with these sort of things.
And just remember, Monday or not: You Will Make It :)
