When do you take the time to self-reflect on your growth: in work, in self, in relationships? In six weeks? In a semester? In a year? In a decade? It can be hard to decide when is the best time to sit back and reflect on your growth, but one thing’s for sure: You’ve got to MAKE IT a PRIORITY.

I always find myself doing a lot of reflection in the fall. ✨ Seasonal changes tend to make me step back for a minute, and fall is my favorite season. My birthday also happens to be in the fall (yesterday & thanks for all the love 💛) and maybe that’s part of it too. You think back on a whole year you’ve lived since the last milestone celebration.

Here are a few things I learned this year:
1. More selfcare. COVID really put this into perspective. I went from traveling a week or more a month to ZERO. Of course that didn’t last much longer than the lockdown (lots of Colorado trip travel posts on the blog) but STILL. I’ve built it into my daily routine now because I find it’s so important. ❕
2. Speaking of a daily routine, make one! It’s kept me sane through this weird time in history we’re living through. Build in things like breaks, physical activity, self-care, & healthy snacks- you will not regret it!
3. Get into nature more often. Having a slower travel year has let me spend a lot more time in my beautiful home state of Colorado. The mountains have always been a ground presence for me & I’ve been taking full advantage of them.
4. Set boundaries with your work. If I’m honest, my freelance work was starting to become all-consuming, especially working from home. I was working all the time and of course traveling was a perk but I wasn’t doing much else. I recently cut back my client hours and have built in more time for more creative projects that I’ve always wanted to do -and it’s felt amazing.
5. Know your worth and DO. NOT. SETTLE. Raise your rates, cut out toxicity, ask for that bonus you deserve, and surround yourself with positive, motivating people who hype you up. And do it back! Watch the benefits UN freaking fold. It’s such good vibes and you deserve it bb.
