Still wondering what a flight is like? Here’s how the process will work at iFly Denver:

After checking in, you take a short safety class where you’ll learn how to signal your guide in the tunnel so that you can talk to each other. It’s loud, so talking won’t cut it- you’ve got to dive in and use your hands quite literally!

Next up: gear! You will be fitted for a flight suit, which you place over your clothes (I wore a t-shirt, jeans and my Converse from this post). You’ll also receive ear plugs and a helmet. My helmet also offered eye protection, which you’ll need just from the sheer wind force of the tunnel. Without it, it’d be near impossible to keep your eyes open!

After you’re properly suited, the real fun begins! You “fall” into the tunnel- hips first and arms wide up. You’ll be surprised at how you’re already flying from the moment you fall forward. Your guide will help move you to the center of the tunnel, fly up toward the tunnel’s ceiling (which you’ll notice I do with my guide John in the video each time I '“disappear,” as some of you put it), and of course, you’ll snap some pics together. All told, you’ll spend a few minutes in the tunnel. The best part? The entire time feels a lot like the “free fall” part of actual skydiving, which is the part most skydivers live for! It’s a mad adrenaline rush, and honestly addicting.
